<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p> The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was the cause of the pandemic, which led to a revision of not only approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, but also required a reassessment of the role of imaging methods in detecting COVID-19 and its complications, evaluating the effectiveness of treatment and verifying the manifestations of post-covid  syndrome. Of course, special attention is paid to the condition of the lungs in the initial diagnosis of the disease, while more and more data indicates the involvement of the organs of the gastrointestinal tract and other target organs in the process. It is obvious that computer tomography (CT) is the basis of diagnostics of COVID-19. However, the need to control the radiation dose on patients, the relative focus when evaluating the results of chest CT only on changes in the lungs, the insufficient use of quantitative criteria for  studying the condition of the lungs and abdominal organs serve as the basis  for optimizing the algorithms for diagnosing the disease, the methods of performing CT and evaluating the results obtained. </p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>новая коронавирусная инфекция</kwd><kwd>вызванная SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19)</kwd><kwd>компьютерная томография</kwd><kwd>лучевая нагрузка</kwd><kwd>постпроцессорный анализ</kwd><kwd>рентгеновская плотность</kwd><kwd>желудочно-кишечный тракт</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>new coronavirus infection caused by SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19)</kwd><kwd>computer tomography</kwd><kwd>radiation dose</kwd><kwd>postprocessor analysis</kwd><kwd>X-ray density</kwd><kwd>gastrointestinal tract</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">World Health Organization.
