INTRUDUCTION

SUBJECT

MATERIALS AND METHODS

RESULTS

DISCUSSION

Subheadings are additionally issued inside the summary section:

Example: Statistics.

The summary must be accompanied with several keywords that reflect the main topic of the article and facilitates the classification in electronic databases. The keywords should be separated by commas. The summary and keywords should be submitted in Russian, as well as in English.

The authors must compare the English version of the summary and keywords or choose them according to the database https://meshb.nlm.nih.gov/MeSHonDemand. If during checking there is the least number of matches with keywords on the article topic available in the database, it is recommended to use the proposed options.

4.6. Plan for building original articles, reviews, clinical cases. The structure of original articles and reviews must be in the format IMRAD (Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion). The plan of building original articles should be as follows:

Summary and keywords in Russian, summary and keywords in English;

INTRODUCTION;

MATERIALS AND METHODS;

RESULTS;

DISCUSSION;

CONCLUSION.

Introduction provides a brief overview of relevant data, critical assessment of the literature, related to the issue under consideration, justifies the scientific novelty and significance, defines unresolved questions, sets clear goals and targets, explaining further research. Avoid detailed analysis and historic journey.

“Materials and methods” section must contain information about where and when the research was carried out; the criteria of patients’ inclusion and exclusion, experimental animals; description of research method (cohort, prospective, randomized drug testing, retrospective, series of observation); detailed description of new medicine, method, modification, experiment, protocol brief description  (Standard Operating Protocol - SOP). Modern methods of statistical data processing should be used. If the research was carried out using equipment, its name and organization-manufacturer should be specified.

Review articles provide the database on which the analysis was carried out; requested keywords, analysis period.

In clinical cases the summary should have sections (may not be highlighted):

  • relevance – 1-2 sentences on the importance of presenting the case;
  • subject – what contributed  to the study of this case (what patient turned and with what complaint);
  • conclusion.

Results and discussion should be described in different sections. The results should be clear and concise. Data should be provided in absolute numbers and in percentages, 95% confidence interval (95 CI%) and the value of p should be indicated.

Section “Discussion” contains a convincing explanation of the results and shows their importance.

4.7. Medicines should be listed only as international non-proprietary ones, which are used first, then if necessary trade names of the drugs, registered in Russia, are given (based on the Sate Register of Drugs, https://grls.rosminzdrav.ru/Default.aspx). It is desirable for the enzyme spelling to correspond EnzymeNomenclature (http://www.chem.qmul.ac.uk/iubmb/enzyme/). Familial disease naming should be corresponded to the international classification of inherited conditions in humans ("MendelianInheritancein Man", http://ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Omim). Names of micro-organisms should be checked in accordance with the international database, which contains updated information: http://gcm.wfcc.info.

4.8. Abbreviation. The manuscript may be accompanied by a glossary of terms (vague, likely to cause the difficulty while reading). In addition to the generally accepted abbreviations of units of measurement, physical, chemical and mathematical values and terms (for example, DNA), abbreviations of word combinations, often repeated in the text, are allowed. All letters entered by the author must be deciphered in the text of the article at their first mention. Abbreviations for single words are not allowed, even if they are repeated frequently. Doses of medicines, units of physical quantity measurements should be specified in the SI system. The comma is used to indicate decimals: 0,35.

4.9. Requirements to the illustrations. Each image should be placed in the article in the appropriate section with reference. The figure should have a numbering and title both in Russian and English. The numbering and title of the figure are placed under the figure.

Example

Fig. 1. Primary disease rate among

A single system of letter designations and image scaling should be used; images in the text must be numbered consecutively. The picture file format - eps, tiff; resolution of at least 300 dpi.

All figures (graphics, histograms) should be black and white and differ by dashes, cross-hatchings, etc. Pie diagrams and figures cannot be placed in 3D. All histograms must not have a color background.

Образец

4.10. Table design. Table number should be marked (if there is more than one table), named both in Russian and English. Table names are placed above tables. Word abbreviations in tables are not allowed. All figures in the table must correspond to the figures in the text.

4.11. Mathematical equations. Math equations should be submitted as editable text not as images. Variables should be in italics. Equations should be numbered in order.

4.12. Reference lists. The Vancouver Citation Style is adopted in the Journal “Radiodiagnosis and therapy” (reference lists are numbered not alphabetically, but in the order, mentioned in the text, regardless of the work language). It is desirable to cite no more than 20 sources in original papers, in reviews - no more than 60, in lectures and other materials - no more than 15. The reference list has to contain, besides fundamental works, the publications for the last 5 years, mostly articles from journals, references to highly cited sources, including Scopus and Web of Science. Any other additional information, if known, should be provided, for example DOI, PMID, etc.

The list of references includes only peer-reviewed sources (articles from scientific journals), used in the text of the article. Do not include in the list of literature abstracts, dissertations, textbooks, teaching guide, GOST, information from websites (using URL-address and the date on which a reference has been made available), statistical reports, articles in socio-political newspapers, websites and blogs.

If it is necessary to refer to these sources, information should be included in a footnote.

Bibliographic references in the article text are indicated [numbers, p. 3-12] in square brackets showing the pages. Ensure that all references in the text are listed (and vice versa).

Journal names should be abbreviated according to List of Title Word Abbreviations.

Self-citation is valid only in case of extreme necessity (in the literature review – not more than 3-5 references).

In accordance with the requirements of international citation systems, bibliographic lists are compiled in two versions: Russian and transliteration with English version. When preparing the list of literature, it is desirable to use free access transliteration systems (for example, http://www.translit.ru, BGN section).

The authors are solely responsible for the correctness of the bibliographic information.
